Presented by National Geographic, this is the
story of wildlife conservationists Mark and Delia Owens' journey through the heart
of Southern Africa in search of a prime research site where they can find wildlife in a
habitat untouched by the intrusion of civilization. The quest for this perfect field of
study proves to be testing as the landscape is either marred by the confusion of civil
unrest or so untamed that it is virtually inaccessible. After an arduous journey through
the dense, trackless bush country, the conservationists conclude that Zambia's North
Luangwa National Park seems to be the best site they have yet viewed. It is stocked with
wildlife, in desperate need of a conservation strategy and virtually untouched by
humans. (60 min.) |
